The C Stands for Classroom: Cody Scholar-Athletes Walk the Stage

From the Track & Field MVP to honor-cord speakers, the Class of 2026 proved that Comet athletes are students first — earning diplomas, scholarships, and a standard for the next class.
On graduation night, the Cody gym’s green and white gave way to caps, gowns, and honor cords — and a room full of proof that being a Comet starts in the classroom. Athletes who spent the year on the court, the course, and the track crossed the stage as graduates, many draped in the medals and cords that mark academic achievement.
Among them was the program’s Track & Field MVP for Spring 2026, who accepted her plaque in cap and gown to a standing ovation — a reminder that the discipline built in training translates directly into the discipline that earns a diploma.
Honor graduates addressed the Comet family from the podium, thanking coaches, teachers, and the community that pushed them. Others were recognized on stage with awards for leadership and scholarship, standing shoulder to shoulder with the staff who helped them get there.
At Cody, the mission has never been only about winning games. It is about sending student-athletes into the world with a degree in hand and a college opportunity in front of them. The Class of 2026 set the bar — and every Comet who follows knows the C stands for classroom first.
